Social Security Watch – according to the latest report of its Board of Trustees, Social Security trust funds will remain solvent until 2037 (2040 for retirement benefits and 2018 for disability benefits). In 2037, Social Security payroll-tax revenues will be sufficient to pay only about three-fourths of the expected benefit obligations. Social Security’s administrative costs are less than 1% of Social Security’s total expenditures.
