According to the latest Social Security report of its Board of Trustees, Social Security retirement funds will remain solvent until 2034. After 2034, payroll taxes, which funds Social Security, will be sufficient to pay about 77% of the expected retirement benefit obligations.
Social Security disability funds will remain solvent until 2032. After 2032, payroll-tax revenues will be sufficient to pay about 96% of the expected disability benefit obligations.
Social Security's administrative costs are about 1% of total expenditures.
