In-Home Respite Care is the provision of
appropriate, temporary, substitute care or supervision of functionally impaired
older people which enables the primary family caregiver to continue to provide
care for the older person. Respite care workers can help with household chores,
such as cleaning and laundry. Other tasks include planning and preparing meals
and personal care, such as dressing, bathing, grooming and following special
diets.
