Delivered Meals are nutritious meals delivered to older people who are homebound because of illness, physical or
mental impairment or if otherwise isolated. Home Delivered Meals are offered for
a suggested donation. Delivered meals may not be available is some communities.
- Meals are also served in congregate settings such as senior centers, high-rise
buildings, and community buildings. See the Congregate
Meals program for more information.
- Check our Resource Guide on Aging to find agencies, by county, which deliver meals.
- Use this link to learn more about meals delivered on some holidays
in some locations.
- View the Dietary
Guidelines which are used to determined the content of our meals.

At least one Home Delivered Meal is delivered hot, other
meals may frozen depending on the delivery area. Meals contain one-third of the
current recommended dietary allowance. Menus are approved by a qualified
individual and posted in advance.
To inquire about having a meal delivered,
call your local senior center.
Most home delivered meals are delivered by
volunteers. Finding volunteers who are willing to drive far out into the
countryside to deliver meals is difficult. For years senior centers have
struggled to find ways to get their meals to isolated, homebound seniors in
rural areas of Southern Illinois.
If you would like to be a volunteer, call
your local senior center.
